Meet the Teachers
Laurene Randle, M.A. CCC-SLP
Laurene loves being the owner and lead teacher of Brilliant Bloomers Nursery School because her passion is teaching preschool.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN in 1998 with a bachelor of science, double major in Biology and Spanish.  Her plan was to get her PhD in Neurolinguistics, but after working for a year as a research assistant in a neurology lab, she realized that she wanted to work with children instead.
Laurene received a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2001 and began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California, where she was asked to teach a pre-kindergarten class 5 mornings per week.  Teaching soon became her passion and she continued to teach pre-K for 4 1/2 years until deciding to be a stay-at-home mom.  Laurene loved being a stay-at-home mom to her two little girls, but missed teaching.  So, after moving to Wells in 2010, she created and taught the Talkin' Toddlers program through the Wells Parks and Rec (2011-2012).  Laurene then set her heart on starting her own preschool, and opened the doors of Brilliant Bloomers in 2013!  She feels that her advanced degree in speech and language development and her extensive experience as both a preschool teacher and as a Speech Therapist have made her exceptionally qualified to help bring out the Brilliance in our little Bloomers.

A Virtual Tour of Brilliant Bloomers

Brilliant Bloomers Nursery School has a large playground complete with various play equipment, a large grassy area for group games, and even a class garden.

At Brilliant Bloomers the preschoolers love playing a different group game like Ring-around-the-Rosie and Red Rover, Red Rover every week!

Brilliant Bloomers has 3 separate play rooms to foster the development of various play skills: imaginative play, movement play, and creative/ exploratory play.  The development of each of these types of play performs a critical role in preparation for kindergarten.

Preschool playtime is important in helping children develop the social and play skills necessary for a happy and successful kindergarten experience.  During the preschool years, children move from parallel play to interactive play with various playmates.  Children are assisted in the development of these skills by the highly-qualified and experienced teachers at Brilliant Bloomers.

The curriculum at Brilliant Bloomers was designed with input from the Kindergarten teachers at Wells Elementary School.  Emphasis is placed on developing the social, behavioral, and academic skills necessary for a happy and successful kindergarten experience.

At Brilliant Bloomers we use multisensory teaching techniques because we understand and respect the fact that every child learns through a different combination of learning styles. The 3 primary learning styles are auditory (listening), visual (sight), and kinesthetic (motor).  Brilliant Bloomers teachers use all 3 of these primary learning styles every day to teach preschool-level academics, and even incorporate the 2 secondary learning modalities, olfactory (smell) and gustatory (taste), as often as possible. By teaching in a multisensory fashion, learning seems just like PLAY!
